On April 11, 2025, during the Wrocław University of Science and Technology Open Day, employees of the Department of Nanometrology presented selected aspects of studying at the Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems:
- Urszula Nawrot, Ph.D. Eng., guided tours of the Fiber Optics Laboratory, explaining how we can send huge amounts of information over long distances through a fiber thinner than a human hair, or how to create a sensor element based on such a fiber,
- Marcin Palewicz, Ph.D. Eng., demonstrated the teaching stations of the Quantum Information Laboratory and talked about the possibilities of using quantum phenomena in modern communication solutions,
- Andrzej Sikora, Ph.D., D.Sc., Eng., in his lecture "From resistor to microprocessor, from caliper to satellite... welcome to the Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems" discussed possible paths of development for students, where starting from acquiring basic mathematical, physical and technical knowledge, within a few years they can become members of design teams, successfully competing with students from the best universities in the world.
