Bartosz Pruchnik, Ph.D. Eng. received a scholarship from the Kościuszko Foundation, thanks to which he will spend 6 months at the University of Austin (Texas, USA) at the turn of 2025 and 2026. The aim of the trip is to develop fast atomic force microscopy (AFM) for interdisciplinary picometrology. During the trip, an attempt will be made to improve the resolution and speed of AFM, which will translate into a significant increase in efficiency and potentially allow for imaging certain processes, e.g. biological ones, in real time. The visit will take place at the University of Texas at Austin in the Minimax group led by Prof. Fangzhou Xia. Prof. Xia has established his own laboratory at UT dedicated to the development of modern micro- and nanotechnology of devices - including AFM systems. Technological applications for modified systems are in the future, achievable thanks to the help of Prof. Xia.
